Ascension of Our Lord recognizes its graduates

Ascension of Our Lord seventh graders recently participated in a Mass and awards ceremony to celebrate their promotion.

Aysia Brown, daughter of Brian Brown and Octavia Bates, received the St. John Bosco Award — awarded to the student with the highest cumulative average for sixth and seventh grades combined.

Bella Marix, daughter of Michael and Angelle Marix, received the St. Dominic Savio Award, which is awarded to the student with the second highest cumulative average for sixth and seventh grades combined.

The following students received scholarships to St. Charles Catholic High School presented by Tricia Lowry: Aysia Brown, 1st rank, St. Charles Catholic-$950; Mallory Brennan and Torie Joseph (tie) sixth rank, St. Charles Catholic-$433 each.

Other notable awards were: The Piovan Memorial Scholarship-$1000, Torie Joseph and Brianna Loescher; Christian Athlete, Brianna Loescher and Hunter Lowry; Academic Athlete, Aysia Brown and Bella Marix; the Pastor’s Award, Kharma Creecy; and the Principal’s Award, Bella Marix.
