Senior Citizen Food Bank phone line opens Monday

LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish residents ages 65 and older may register for a community program that will provide free meals Monday through Friday. Spots will be scheduled and assigned via phone bank on Monday, May 15, starting at 9 a.m. until all spots are filled. Spots are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
The phone bank number is 985-536-1024. The following information is required:
- Income for one month or four consecutive check stubs
- Social Security cards for everyone living in the household
- Self-employed applicants must provide recent federal income tax return and attached schedules
- Termination records: If applicant is recently terminated or laid off
- ID picture/driver’s license – If ID does not match energy service location address, you must submit another utility bill and another bill including lease agreement or rent receipt to show vulnerability
Meals on Wheels program recipients and SNAP recipients are not eligible. Monthly income guidelines are as follows:
