BATON ROUGE – This week, Governor John Bel Edwards issued the following statement on the passing of longtime Louisiana lobbyist Jim Harris:

“For over 40 years, Jim was a familiar and friendly face at the State Capitol. He was admired for his deep commitment to public service, which did not stop when he was diagnosed with ALS. A consummate gentleman, he was known for his ability to work with everyone, regardless of party affiliation. Jim’s passion, commitment, and friendliness will truly be missed.
