LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital recently welcomed Abigail Lejeune, SHRMSCP, as the hospital’s new director of human resources. Abigail brings over a decade of experience to the hospital’s leadership team.
Abigail graduated from Louisiana State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in management. In 2014, she received her masters of business administration (MBA) from Florida State University.
Abigail is a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM-SCP is an exam-based certification earned by senior level human resources (HR) leaders who have an advanced understanding of HR operations and strategies.
Abigail has worked in human resources for the past 11 years. She most recently served as assistant director of employee data management at Florida State University where she helped lead talent management, benefits and payroll for an academic system of over 15,000 student employees and faculty.
Abigail has welcomed the transition from a large university to a small community hospital.
“In this setting, I feel I can personally make a difference in the lives of our team,” said Abigail. “Advancing our employee experience improves patient care and contributes to the overall success of our organization.
“I am truly excited to support the employees of St. James Parish Hospital while they work to support our patients.”
“The role and importance of human resource professionals have grown significantly, and I am so proud of the advancements our HR team has led in the last several years,” said Mary Ellen Pratt, FACHE, St. James Parish Hospital CEO. “Abigail’s background and experience was a perfect fit for us to continue this progress.”
