NEW ORLEANS—This week a Chrism Mass was held at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. According to the Archdoicise of New Orleans website, “the Chrism Mass reminds us of our oneness in Christ through Baptism and its holy anointing, made possible by the ministry of the archbishop and his priests.

Three SCC Eucharistic Ministers, parishioners that administer the body and blood of Christ during communion, attended the Mass celebrated by Archbishop Gregory Aymond. Also in attendance was the sixth grade class of Ascension of our Lord in LaPlace.

During the Mass, the sacred oils and chrism used in sacramental ministry in every parish for the coming year were blessed.
