Gramercy man arrested for Donaldsonville homicide

According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, on Tuesday March 14, detectives with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Jermaine Duperclay, 29, of Gramercy. He is charged with second degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and three-counts of aggravated damage to property stemming from a homicide that occurred in Donaldsonville in September .
On the morning of Friday, September 30, 2022, deputies responded to a shooting at a residence on Woodland Drive in Donaldsonville. Upon arrival, deputies found David Washington, 31, deceased, in the driver seat of his vehicle, with multiple gunshot wounds. During their investigation, detectives with the APSO Violent Crimes Unit identified Duperclay as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on Monday, March 13. Duperclay was located at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on separate charges. He was transported and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
