LAPLACE—Kiwanis of the Tri-Parishes recently presented a coffee social at PJ’s in LaPlace to show support for first responders as well as to promote the club’s mission of improving the lives of children one community at a time.

The SJSO appreciates the Kiwanis support of law enforcement, and officers are pleased to partner with the Kiwanis to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as fighting hunger, improving literacy and offering guidance.

The SJSO recently partnered with the Kiwanis to kick off a 60-day read-athon this month at Lake Pontchartrain Elementary. Other activities also are being planned.

Currently, the Kiwanis are raffling a boiling pot to raise money for activities. Anyone interested in buying a $10 ticket should email kiwanistriparishes@gmail.com.
