Sheriff Mike Tregre had the pleasure of speaking today at a training session for members of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute or NORLI. Fifty-one people from throughout the New Orleans area who were selected to participate in NORLI’s 2023 leadership program gathered for this training at the LBJ Training Center in LaPlace.
Sheriff Tregre touched on a range of topics from preventing crime, officer training and advancement in law enforcement technology, to rehabilitating offenders and supporting victims.
NORLI’s goal is to educate and connect emerging leaders from throughout southeast Louisiana as they discuss key challenges and opportunities for the Greater New Orleans area. Sessions include discussions on public policy, education, economic development, diversity and equity, criminal justice, environmental sustainability and health care.
In other news from the St. John Sheriff’s Office, Tregre recently announced that four officers received promotions:
Lt. Jenni Estraca has been promoted to Commander of Crime Scene Investigations. In Corrections, Sgt. Justin Williams has been promoted to Director of Security/Programs; and Sgt. Kendel Harris has been promoted to K9 officer.
In Civil Administration, Deputy Renata Morris has been promoted to assistant office manager.
These officers are being recognized “because of their continued hard work and dedication to the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office and the community,” Sheriff Tregre said.
