On January 16, 2023, at 11:47 pm KPD patrol stopped a vehicle in the 3100 block of Loyola Drive. During the stop and interview of the driver, Terrance Cotaya, 23, Kenner; a Glock 40 caliber handgun was found in his waistband. During the investigation, the passenger, Dominique Robinson, 31, Lutcher; fled from the vehicle and the officer, Robinson was apprehended after a struggle with the officer. Upon returning to the vehicle, a search discovered another Glock 9mm handgun where Robinson was seated, two black ski masks, gloves, and drug paraphernalia.
