New Orleans man arrested for vehicle burglary in LaPlace

A New Orleans man was arrested January 17, 2023 in connection to a vehicle burglary at a LaPlace business. Lucito Fuentes, 19, was charged with simple burglary.
On January 16, 2023, about 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 4300 block of U.S. 51 in LaPlace in reference to a vehicle burglary. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who reported that the front driver’s side window of his vehicle was shattered and his wallet, a roll of electrical tape, and his IPhone 11 were missing from the vehicle.
The victim reported that the person he suspected of breaking into his vehicle was still on the premises of the business. Officers learned that the victim found a black glove not belonging to the victim on the passenger seat of his vehicle. The victim also noticed Fuentes standing near the business, and he was wearing a black glove on one of his hands. Officers made contact with Fuentes, and they observed that the gloves matched.
Canvassing the area of the burglary, officers located the victim’s wallet and his Iphone lying on the ground.
Fuentes was taken into custody and booked with simple burglary – motor vehicle. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
