NORCO — Norco Elementary School Principal Shannon Diodene has been named Principal of the Year for St. Charles Parish Schools for the 2022-2023 school year.
Ms. Diodene began her career as a physical science and chemistry teacher and dance team sponsor at Destrehan High School. She then served as a staff development coordinator at Destrehan and assistant principal at Norco Elementary and Hahnville High Schools prior to her appointment as principal at Norco in 2019. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Orleans and her Master’s Degree from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Ms. Diodene was honored at the Principal of the Year Spotlight Soirée on October 20. At the ceremony, Superintendent Dr. Ken Oertling said, “She is a selfless leader who always moves forward with faith and action and is never comfortable with the status quo or just getting by. She always looks for ways to improve and does so with such a kind-hearted and caring disposition.”
Ms. Diodene will now represent the school system in the state competition.
