Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents arrested a Hammond man for filing false public records on Aug. 16 in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Agents arrested Chad M. Milton, 43, and booked him into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
Agents began investigating Milton following his homemade boat inspection on his 17-foot aluminum that was conducted on July 8. Milton filed paperwork with the department for a homemade boat inspection on June 6.
During the investigation, agents found that Milton falsified documents for his homemade boat inspection. On Aug. 16, Milton admitted to agents about the fraudulent documents for his vessel.
Filing false public records brings up to a $5,000 fine and five years in jail.
