TPSO seeks subject in carjacking

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect of a carjacking which took place at the Sportsman’s Paradise gas station in Robert on Thursday June 2, 2022.
Chief Jimmy Travis reports just before midnight, two black males approached the victim and her boyfriend. After attempting to enter the locked passenger door, one subject approached the driver and produced what was described as a machine gun style rifle. While holding them at gunpoint, the suspect demanded the keys to the vehicle, at which time the victim complied. The males entered the vehicle and sped off traveling east onto Interstate 12.
Surveillance footage at the gas station captured one suspect, observed to have long dreadlocks and a black zip-up hoodie. The second subject who was not captured on surveillance, was wearing a green zip-up hoodie as well as a mask covering his face from the eyes down.
The vehicle taken is a red 2015 Hyundai Sonata, with Louisiana license plate ZCV315.
