LAPLACE — CrowderGulf is continuing to collect storm debris from St. John the Baptist Parish neighborhoods, Parish President Jaclyn Hotard announced during Thursday’s Parish Council meeting in LaPlace.
Residents can call 985-652-9569 or text their address to 504-884-0607 to request pick-up.
According to Hotard, residents also have the option of bringing Hurricane Ida debris directly to the debris management site located behind the St. John Community Center on U.S. 51 in LaPlace.
Cars, trucks and trailers are allowed at the site. Vegetative, construction, demolition, white goods and household debris are all accepted. The site is operational seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The debris management location is not open to contractors.
In other Hurricane Ida recovery news, Hotard announced that Capital Projects is continuing to repair and replace streetlights. To date, crews have repaired and or replaced 401 streetlights, and Entergy is also working to make repairs.
Residents can continue to submit work orders for streetlights on the website at sjbparish.gov.
