LAPLACE — Kiwanis Clubs from the surrounding areas are coming to help the LaPlace area again by giving out between 900 and 1,000 meals starting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 6 (tomorrow) in the parking lot of 421 W. Airline Highway, next to the Donut Hole Restaurant building. This will be a drive-up style event.
Kiwanis Clubs will be serving red beans and rice, hamburgers and hot dogs with some variety of desserts and bottled water with each meal until all food is gone.
Also, the Kiwanis Clubs will have a lot of cleaning supplies, toiletries and other free items to help the people that might need them still.
If anyone would like to come volunteer, they can show up around 8:30 a.m. to participate in the team effort.
The Kiwanis Clubs thank Becnel Law Firm, St. John the Baptist Sheriff Mike Tregre, the St. John the Baptist School Board, and other community leaders and/or business leaders for their support of this effort and the community.
