Sheriff Champagne reports that the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the theft of a grey utility band trailer belonging to Destrehan High School, which occurred on Monday, October 11 2021, between the hours of 3:50 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to locate video surveillance, which shows what appears to be 4 unknown white males in what appears to be a greenish colored 4-door Ford pick-up truck with paint damage to the roof of the cab hitching up to the trailer.
The males then fled southbound on Schexnaydre Ln. towards River Rd. with the trailer in-tow. Additional camera footage showed the truck and trailer headed Eastbound on River Rd at Longview Dr. just after 4:10 p.m. All males appeared to be in their 30s and 2 or 3 of them were wearing reddish colored baseball hats. One male was wearing a grey shirt with some type of writing on the back, and another one had a slim build with tan skin wearing a neon green shirt.
The stolen utility trailer has 4 large gauge marks on the driver’s side above the wheel-well fender and a St. Charles Parish Schools Logo on the bottom left of the back door.
Investigators are asking residents in the area with exterior security cameras to review their systems to see if they possibly captured the unknown males or the above described vehicle during the time of occurrence. Also, if anyone has information regarding the incident, they are urged to contact Detective Christopher Waguespack of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 783-1135 or contact (985) 783-6807.
