If you are making repairs to your home, please email them at rebuild@stjohn-la.gov or call 985-651-5565. They are doing everything they can to make the permitting process simple during this time.

Permits protect residents and ensure quality work is happening in your home.

Permits are needed for roofs, framing, A/C, electrical, gas, plumbing, accessory building, patios and demolition work. Permits are also needed for RV registration (to occupy home during repairs). All permit fees related to Hurricane Ida have been waived.

Permits are NOT needed for drywall, flooring, gutting and fencing.
