LULING — On September 11, just before 4 p.m., the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical emergency in the 200 block of Santa Cruz Drive in Luling.
Deputies, the Luling Volunteer Fire Department and St. Charles Parish EMS arrived on scene and discovered that a 55-year-old male that was assisting in debris removal had his foot crushed by a piece of heavy machinery.
The male was transported by Flight Care to a local area hospital for medical treatment.
Sheriff Champagne would like to remind both citizens and cleanup workers in St. Charles Parish to please be cautious while cleaning debris. Heavy equipment, downed power lines, and partially fallen trees pose added risks to our community.
