Mark Anthony Kimble Jr., 20, of LaPlace was arrested Sunday, August 15, 2021 after he activated a red and blue dash-mount lighting system on the console of his personal vehicle, attempting to yield traffic on Interstate 10 in St. John Parish, falsely personifying a police officer.
On Sunday, August 15, 2021, about 7:40 p.m., deputies located the suspect vehicle as it traveled on Belle Terre Boulevard into New Era subdivision in LaPlace and initiated a traffic stop at Jasper Lane and Tiffany Drive. The driver, identified as Kimble, exited the vehicle and was detained.
Through investigation, officers learned Kimble utilized red and blue lights from a dash lighting system behind vehicles to have drivers pull over and have traffic yield to what drivers believed to be an emergency vehicle.
Kimble was arrested for view outward or inward through windshield or windows; obscuring prohibited; and false personation of a peace officer (felony). He is being held in custody. No bail has been set at this time.
