Dock worker falls into Mississippi River; SCSO investigating

Update 08/09/21:
On August 4, 2021, The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating an incident involving a worker that fell from a dock into the Mississippi River at Gnots Reserve located in St. Rose, Louisiana.
Just before 11:00 am on August 9, 2021, the S.C.S.O. received information that the body of a deceased subject was observed in the area of where the dock worker was last seen on August 4th. The St. Charles Parish Coroner’s Office was contacted and a body was recovered from the Mississippi River. Preliminary identification leads detectives to believe that the located subject is the missing dock worker. An autopsy will be completed to confirm a cause of death.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an incident involving a worker that fell from a dock into the Mississippi River at Gnots Reserve located in St. Rose, Louisiana.
Shortly after 2 p.m. the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a Gnots Reserve dock, located in the 12100 block of River Road in St. Rose, LA in reference to a 62-year-old male employee who accidentally fell into the Mississippi River.
The S.C.S.O. Marine Division, Patrol Division, Louisiana Coast Guard, East Pontchartrain Levee District Police, Port of South Louisiana and various privately owned marine fleet companies responded and immediately began searching the area for the missing worker, but so far have been unsuccessful in locating him.
