RESERVE — After a yearlong intermission, St. John Theatre is excited to be back on stage and producing a summer musical. In this musical version of “The Princess and the Pea,” Princess Winnifred is an ungainly, brash girl competing for the hand of Prince Dauntless, whose domineering mother Queen Aggravain has declared he must marry a “true” princess before anyone else in the kingdom can marry.

This will be the first time that “Once Upon A Mattress” will be performed on the St. John Theatre stage. “This is one of my favorite musicals, having performed in Once Upon A Mattress twice now, and I am thrilled to be directing,” stated director Mike Brooks. “This is a fun show and is full of fast-paced hilarious moments that are sure to have the audiences rolling in the aisles.”
“Once Upon A Mattress” will run July 23 – 25 and July 28 – 31 at the St. John Theatre in Reserve. All shows are at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the July 25 2:30 p.m. matinee.
