LULING — Miraculous shelter graduate “Rosie” placed second out of 1,000 pups in the Greater Good Charities Lucky Dog Contest. As the runner-up, she earned 3,000 free meals for her friends at the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter.
Rosie was found abandoned in a pile of garbage and was diagnosed with severe anemia, hookworms, whipworms, heartworms and extreme malnutrition. Her bones were visible and she could not even move her limbs upon intake to the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter, but her story is a testament to the power of animal rescue.
Rosie is now a loving, healthy and playful dog who feels right at home with her forever family.
