KENNER — The Blvd. Bar, located at 2204 Williams Blvd., is perhaps best known in Kenner as one of the friendliest sports bars around.
When owner Debbie Manning relocated from Causeway Blvd. in Metairie four years ago to Kenner, she wasn’t expecting such popularity so quickly. The bar and grill is centrally located near the airport and hotels, right on “the Blvd.”
The Blvd. has had numerous successes in the local billiard and dart leagues, with the trophies to prove it. Manning, like so many other bar, nightclub and pub owners, has suffered tremendous losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so now it is more important than ever to support this local business. Despite the lockdown and loss of revenue, Manning still continues to give back to her community by helping the local softball teams, domestic violence shelters and many other causes close to her heart. She has participated in many poker runs, and benefits, always donating a part of her register to those causes.
The Blvd. has some of the best tamales that I personally have ever eaten, hands down! There are six big screen televisions for sports enthusiasts, and reasonably priced drinks and food. If you visit The Blvd. Bar in the near future, please see their ad in the “Shop Local” in the special sections of this paper and bring in the “buy one get one free” coupon!
