Jace Oubre, SCC senior, recently received the Cindy Deroche Memorial Scholarship. Cindy Deroche was a smiling face and “angel among us” who worked in the SCC front office for many years. Her memorial plaque hangs in the school’s front entry, reminding all of her unfailing kindness each day. After her passing, Mrs. Deroche’s family established a scholarship fund in her honor. Pictured are Melissa Deroche, (left) service dog Emma Jean, Earl Deroche, Jr. and Courtney Millet as Oubre was presented with his $1000 scholarship.
