HAHNVILLE — Child Advocacy Services would like to recognize the virtual swearing-in of Shantell Byrd, the newest Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), by Judge Tim Marcel.

Child Advocacy Services’ CASA works tirelessly to achieve its mission of providing voice, healing and security to children daily. As the reality of COVID-19 started to emerge, Child Advocacy Services staff began implementing steps to ensure that its primary goal to serve the best interest of children would remain a priority. Steps were quickly taken to adapt recruitment and training to a virtual platform to prepare everyday community members to become advocates for children. Child Advocacy Services applauds the community members who answered the call and committed their time and energy to complete the 30-hour training. Those who would like to learn more about becoming a CASA can contact Donna Bliss at Child Advocacy Services 1-800-798-1575 or visitwww.childadv.net.
