Gregory Donald Bergeron, the son of Chris and Deidre Bergeron, finished with a GPA of 4.89. He plans to attend Louisiana State University to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In his senior year, Gregory served as Senior Class President, National Honor Society President, and captain of both the cross country and soccer teams. Throughout his time at SCC, Gregory was also an active member of the Student Council, Beta Club, French Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Ambassadors, Retreat Team, Eucharistic Ministry, track team, and tennis team. He is also a member of the ACT 30 Plus Club. Gregory was named to the 2019-2020 LHSAA Academic All-State Composite Team for cross country, soccer, and track. He was also named First Team All-District for both soccer and cross country. Gregory represented SCC at district and state literary rallies, and this year he won first place overall at district literary rally in physics.

  Gregory received the TOPS Honors Scholarship in addition to other scholarships and stipends totaling $1,399,786. He is a recipient of the Knights of Columbus Catholic Youth Leadership Award, the Entergy Community Service Scholarship, and the SCC Gold Service Award.

  When asked about his time at SCC, Gregory said, “The last five years at SCC have shaped me into the man I am today. I have enjoyed every moment spent with the great mentors, friends, teachers, and coaches. I am thankful for all the opportunities, the unforgettable memories, and the wonderful friendships that SCC has given me.”

Kelly Haik Campbell, the daughter of John and Susan Campbell, finished with a GPA of 4.89.  She plans to attend Louisiana State University to begin the 3+3 Pre-Law Program with a major in Political Science with the intention of attending law school.  Kelly served as the Beta Club Vice President and served as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leader. She was also an active member in French Club, National Honor Society, Retreat Team, Eucharistic Ministry, and Ambassadors. She is a member of the ACT 30 Plus Club, and she was chosen as the SCC Senior Student of the Year. She also participated in both the district and state literary rallies for French. Kelly was a member of the girl’s basketball team and served as captain her senior year. She was also a member of the swim team and volleyball team throughout her years at SCC. Kelly was named to the 2019-2020 LHSAA All-Academic Composite Team for all three sports.

  Kelly received the TOPS Honors Scholarship in addition to other scholarships and awards totaling $482,700.

  When questioned about her high school experience at SCC, Kelly proudly expressed, “Over these last five years, St. Charles Catholic High School has helped me grow academically, spiritually, and athletically. The lessons that my teachers, coaches, and the administration have instilled in me have molded me into the young woman I am today. I am beyond blessed to have attended SCC, and I will never forget the many memories I have made here with my friends and family. I am confident that the lessons I have learned at SCC will help me in my future endeavors, and I will be forever thankful for the love and support provided by my Comet Family.”

Mallory Elizabeth Fernandez, the daughter of Janet Townsend and Don Fernandez, finished with a GPA of 4.89. She plans to attend Louisiana State University and major in Biology and later attend dental school. Mallory served as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leader, and she was also involved in Beta Club, National Honors Society, Retreat Team, Eucharistic Ministry, Ambassadors, and French Club. She participated in the district literary rally for biology. Mallory was a member of the volleyball team, swim team and basketball team throughout her years in high school. She was also captain of the basketball team her senior year. Mallory was named a part of the 2019-2020 LHSAA All-Academic Composite Team for all three sports.

  Mallory received the TOPS Honors Scholarship, in addition to various other scholarships totaling $482,556.

  When questioned about her years at SCC, Mallory stated, “St. Charles Catholic has helped me develop a strong foundation in my education, spiritual life, and social endeavors. With guidance from my school community and coaches, these past five years have helped me to become a strong and hard-working young woman. SCC will always have a special place in my heart, and I will be forever grateful for the many lessons I have learned. Because of the wonderful administration, I know I am prepared for a bright future!”

Arjun Harish Iyer, the son of Anila Iyer and the late Harish Iyer, finished with a GPA of 4.89. He plans to attend Louisiana State University to pursue a degree in Biology, and after receiving his undergraduate degree, he wants to attend medical school to become a plastic surgeon. Arjun served as Student Body Vice-President and French Club President during his senior year and held other leadership positions during his years at SCC. He was also an active member in Beta Club, National Honor Society, Retreat Team, Ambassadors, and the ACT 30 Plus Club. Arjun enjoyed playing tennis and running track during his time at SCC and was named 2020 LHSAA Academic All-State Composite Team for tennis. Arjun also served as a representative in the 2019 Louisiana Boys State session.

  Arjun received the TOPS Honors Scholarship in addition to scholarships and awards from various universities totaling $378,312.

  “My time spent at St. Charles Catholic High School has molded me into the young man that I am today and has given me the skills and confidence to pursue a career in medicine. I will be forever thankful for the memories I have made with the faculty, staff, and my classmates over the last five years. I am appreciative for my mother’s sacrifices and the blessing of having received a Catholic education.”

Brady John Jacob, the son of Quinn and Wendi Jacob, finished with a GPA of 4.89. He plans to attend Louisiana State University to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. Brady served as National Honor Society Treasurer as well as Mu Alpha Theta Vice President during his senior year. He participated in Beta Club, Ambassadors, Spanish Club, Eucharistic Ministry, and the ACT 30 Plus Club. He placed in the district literary rally in functions and statistics his senior year. He was also a member of football and tennis teams and was honored to be a part of the LHSAA Class 2A Academic All-State Composite Team for football.

  Brady received the TOPS Honors Scholarship in addition to other scholarships and awards totaling $2,874,854. Brady has also maintained four years of Perfect Attendance.

  When asked about his years at St. Charles Catholic, Brady stated that “Over the last five years, St. Charles Catholic High School has always provided me with the loving inspiration, unwavering support, and generous guidance that has transformed me into the young adult that I am today. My years at St. Charles Catholic have been blessed with unforgettable memories and vital lessons that will last a lifetime. I am extremely honored to join my father, two sisters, and three brothers as an SCC alumnus. St. Charles Catholic will always be a place that I will be able to call my home.”

  Joseph Cao Nguyen, the son of Huy Do and Tri Nguyen, finished with a GPA of 4.89. He plans to attend Louisiana State University to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. While at St. Charles Catholic, Joseph was a member of the Jr. Beta Club, National Honors Society, Spanish Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, and the ACT 30 Plus Club.

Joseph received the TOPS Honors Scholarship in addition to other scholarships and awards totaling $1,427,739. He has maintained a three year streak of perfect attendance at St. Charles Catholic.

  “To me, St. Charles Catholic High School is my second family. Unlike most high schools, St. Charles Catholic fosters a close-knit community where I can recognize everyone by name when I walk into the halls. In these past five years, I have grown to withstand any difficulties because of the challenges presented by my caring teachers. I am proud to be a Comet, and I will always miss this school,” commented Joseph when he was asked about his time spent at SCC.

  

Zahria DaNae Phillip, the daughter of Darnell Phillip and the late LaToya Phillip, finished with a GPA of 4.84. She plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to pursue a degree in Management with a concentration in Legal Studies, and after receiving her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in Health Law and Management at Loyola University. During her senior year, Zahria served as Senior Class Vice President and National Honor Society Vice President. She has participated in an abundance of activities while at SCC, including French Club, volleyball, track and field, Beta Club, ACT 30 Plus Club, and Student Ambassadors.

  Zahria received the TOPS Honors Scholarship and New Orleans Elks Lodge Scholarship in addition to other scholarships and awards totaling $2,107,072.

  When asked about her years at St. Charles Catholic High School, Zahria expressed, “SCC has taught me valuable lessons academically and spiritually that have formed me into the individual that I am today. These years have instilled in me the importance of perseverance during obstacles, tragedy, and difficult times. At SCC I learned the importance of family and community, as SCC is a place where everyone is welcomed and valued.”

Landon Patrick Terry, the son of Lance and Rachel Terry, finished with a GPA of 4.84. He plans to major in Chemical Engineering at Louisiana State University. Landon was a member of the drumline, Beta Club, National Honors Society, Spanish Club, and Mu Alpha Theta. He was also a member of the ACT 30 Plus Club. Landon attended district literary rally for chemistry as a junior, making it to the state level. He also attended district literary rally for calculus as a senior.

  Landon received the TOPS Honors Scholarship through the state of Louisiana, as well as an additional $170,200 in scholarships.

  Reflecting about his time at SCC, Landon stated, “During my time at St. Charles Catholic, I have grown tremendously as a person. When I entered eighth grade, I was intimidated by how many new faces there were in both the student body and faculty. With the help of the school’s friendly environment, I quickly learned to adjust and managed to make friends with some of the best people I’ve ever known.”
