In December of 1992, my daughter Ronny was diagnosed with acute leukemia. Having four children, the youngest being 15 months, she went to MD Anderson in Houston for treatment.

In isolation for 28 days, she started chemotherapy which lasted 11 months. She was the only one of five patients being treated for acute leukemia in that ward who miraculously survived.

Within a year after her final treatment, I called one morning and asked, “How are you

“Daddy, I’m pregnant!”

I was surprised; she seemed surprised; Dr. Gurtler (one of the best) from East Jefferson Hospital was as well.

Ronny and her husband Michael were blessed with their fifth child and our 14th grandchild, a healthy baby girl they named Victoria Grace.

“How did you come up with that name?” I asked.

“Daddy, that will always remind us of the victory we have in Christ and that His Grace is sufficient for every need we will ever have.”

Victoria, now 25, and her fiancĂ© Tim Boesen will be married this week. That relationship was made in Heaven by God, with a lot of help from Tim’s mother, Rochelle. Victoria’s mother will officiate the small, simple ceremony which Victoria always wanted.

Jeanne and I feel so blessed for what God has allowed us to experience in our lifetime.

Victoria Grace is a beautiful name that means so much to us; regardless of what you are named, you can always experience the victory in Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Whatever trial you may be going through, or will go through, His Grace is sufficient to meet all your needs.

Our best wishes go out to Tim and Victoria knowing that Tim will be the protector, provider, and priest of their home.
