Charles “Chinee” Warren Madere, Jr.

Charles Warren Madere, Jr. was born on October 27, 1951 and passed away on May 24, 2020 at the age of 68.  He was a native of Garyville and a resident of

LaPlace.  Charles also known as “Chinee” to family and friends, was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother.  Charles proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps.  Chinee enjoyed his satsuma orchard,  and fruit stand where he was known as the “fruit stand guy”.  He was caring, compassionate, and literally willing to share the shirt off his back.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Roxane; his sons, Charles Madere III, Lance Madere, Ronnie Newman, Dawn Shampaine (Dennis); siblings, Lottie Benoit, Judy Contreras (Glenn), Harry Madere (Missy), Kathy Louque (Jody); 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and 2 godchildren, Kathy Louque and Sadie Templet.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris B. Madere Cambre and Charles W. Madere, Sr.; step father, Douglas W. Cambre, Jr.; grandson, Christian “Cookie” Newman; and niece, Jennie Louque.

The visitation will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 West 5th Street in LaPlace on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m.  Interment in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Due to the current circumstances mask should be worn.
