LAPLACE–St. John Library was recently granted access to three databases that were not available to residents in the past.
eBook Public Library Collection offers full text titles, including many non-fiction titles that can be used by elementary students through college.
Job & Career Accelerator has information on over 1,000 occupations as well as resume, cover letters, interviewing, networking techniques and more.
Points of View is a resource for high school and college students to debate, develop arguments, write position papers and develop critical thinking skills.
Access to these databases are through the state library’s website: http://lalibcon.state.lib.la.us/
An application for a St. John Library card can be downloaded on the local library’s website.
St. John Library is also inviting residents with limited or no internet availability to stop by its local branches. The Wi-Fi system is accessible in the parking lot and requires no password. An internet capable device is required.
In other Library news, with the state entering Phase One of reopening, the library is working on plans to reopen.
In a Facebook post, St. John the Baptist Parish Library said, “We as a library system are working tirelessly to finalize plans for reopening that will keep our staff and customers safe. Please continue to use our virtual resources and monitor our social media pages and website for the latest information.”
