Monday update: St. John Parish reporting 777 COVID-19 cases

LAPLACE — There were 777 of reported COVID-19 cases and 71 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish on Monday, according to the Louisiana Department of Health. There was 772 reported cases of COVID-19 and 71 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish on Sunday.
St. Charles Parish has 584 reported cases and 41 deaths, while St. James has 253 reported cases and 20 deaths.
Statewide, there are 29,673 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 333 cases since yesterday’s report.
There have been 1,991 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 22 since Sunday’s report. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,502 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 220 are on ventilators.
The state is now reporting that 20,316 people who have tested positive are presumed to have recovered as of May 2.

Governor John Bel Edwards has extended his Stay at Home order for Louisiana residents through May 15.
