No change in St. John Parish COVID-19 numbers from Saturday to Sunday

LAPLACE — There were no changes in the number of reported COVID-19 cases or deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish from Saturday to Sunday, according to the Louisiana Department of Health. There have been 772 reported cases of COVID-19 and 71 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish. 

St. Charles Parish has 582 reported cases and 40 deaths, while St. James has 250 reported cases and 20 deaths. 

Statewide, there are 29,340 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 200 cases since yesterday’s report. 

There have been 1,969 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 19 since Saturday’s report. The first death in the state was reported on March 14. 

According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,530 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 213 are on ventilators. 

The state is now reporting that 17,303 people who have tested positive are presumed to have recovered as of April 26.

Governor John Bel Edwards has extended his Stay at Home order for Louisiana residents through May 15.
