Saturday update: St. John Parish reports 747 COVID-19 cases

LAPLACE — As of the Saturday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 747 reported cases of COVID-19 and 64 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.
On Friday, there were 736 recorded cases and 63 deaths in St. John Parish.
St. Charles Parish has 540 reported cases and 35 deaths, while St. James has 237 reported cases and 18 deaths.
Statewide, there are 26,512 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 372 cases since yesterday’s report.
There have been 1,644 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 43 since Friday’s report. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,700 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 286 are on ventilators.
Additionally the state is reporting there are 14,927 cases that are presumed to be recovered.
