Monday Update: St. John reports 669 cases of COVID-19

LAPLACE — As of the Monday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 669 reported cases of COVID-19 and 53 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.

On Sunday, there were 642 recorded cases and 53 deaths in St. John Parish.

St. Charles Parish has 508 reported cases and 28 deaths, while St. James has 222 reported cases and 15 deaths.

Statewide, there are 24,523 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 595 cases since yesterday’s report.

There have been 1,328 deaths statewide, which is an increase of 32 since Sunday. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.

According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,794 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 332 are on ventilators.
