Jefferson Parish fugitives arrested in LaPlace

LAPLACE — Two fugitives from Jefferson Parish were immediately apprehended after a foot chase with officers of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police on Tuesday, after SJSO deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle on West Airline Highway in LaPlace.
Arrested were Bobby Christopher Davis, 20, of Gretna, and Brandon Nicholas Shaw, 25, of Harvey.
At about 4 p.m. Tuesday, deputies, working with Louisiana State Police, attempted to make contact with the driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as Davis, and the passenger, identified as Shaw, after Davis stopped at a business on West Airline Highway in LaPlace. As officers approached the vehicle, both subjects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Davis, who was armed with a gun, and Shaw were immediately apprehended by SJSO and LSP.
The gun was recovered, and no one was injured. Officers also discovered another gun in the vehicle.
Shaw was booked with illegal possession of stolen things (felony). Shaw was wanted on a fugitive warrant for Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was transferred to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.
Davis was charged with illegal carrying of weapons (felony) two counts, illegal possession of stolen things (felony), driver must be licensed, and resisting an officer by flight (misd). Davis was wanted on a fugitive warrant for Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was also transferred to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.
