St. Charles Sheriff seeks public’s help finding shooting suspect

ST. ROSE — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Joseph “Joe” Washington, an 18-year-old male who is wanted for an aggravated battery that occurred on Saturday, Feb. 29.
At about 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 29, deputies responded to a shooting at 1 Summerton Drive in St. Rose. Deputies arrived on scene and located a 38-year-old male with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. The victim, a resident of Reserve, was transported to the University Medical Center in New Orleans and is currently listed in “critical but stable” condition.
During the investigation, detectives obtained sufficient probable cause to have an arrest warrant issued for Joseph Washington in connection with the shooting.
