ST. ROSE — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office works tirelessly to ensure the safety of the entire parish’s citizens, often at the expense of their own safety.

Recently, Glen Smith, Gary Smith Sr. and Senator Gary Smith Jr. of GSmith Motorsports & The Magnolia Companies of LA, LLC were honored with a visit from some of St. Charles Parish’s finest, all in support of an amazing cause.

The annual Police Unity Tour will ride again this coming May. Sgt. Giovanni Tarullo, Sgt. Walter Banks, Det. Kevin Tennison, and Det. Steven Mahan will represent SCPSO in the annual Police Unity Tour, riding in honor of officers lost in the line of duty, as well as raising funds for families of fallen officers.

The Tour, now almost 2,500 members strong, has donated almost $23 million to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund since its inception in 1997, according to the Police Unity Tour’s website.

“The officers protecting our Parish and all officers put themselves in hostile, life-threatening situations every day, something most of us could never comprehend,” said Gary Smith Sr., President of The Magnolia Companies of LA, LLC. “We hope the officers know how much we support and appreciate them.”
