BROWNWOOD, Texas — Two years ago, Bria Neal led the Riverside Academy Lady Rebels basketball team to a playoff run that stretched to the semifinal round, the furthest the girls team had ever advanced in the history of the program.
Neal is continuing to make waves as a freshman guard for Howard University in Texas. Early this month, the American Southwest Conference named her a women’s basketball player of the week for her outstanding performance in a road game against Sul Ross State.
Neal led the Lady Jackets with 13 points and 14 rebounds, contributing to a 79-64 win. She also collected four assists and two steals, went 4-for-8 from the field and sunk 5-of-7 at the line.
