Five St. John residents and two others arrested in several drug related incidents

LAPLACE — Six people were arrested for drug violations as well as other charges in three separate incidents in the past two weeks during proactive patrols by the St. John Sheriff’s Office’s Special Operations Crime Reduction Team.

On Oct. 17, officers arrested Therill Demon Dennis, 27, and Milton Anderson, 25, both of Reserve, after a traffic stop. CRT officers observed a Ford Taurus traveling on Highway 44 in Reserve with a temporary plate with an unidentifiable expiration date. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near East 23rd Street, but the driver, later identified as Anderson, refused to stop. Eventually,
Anderson stopped the vehicle in the 200 block of East 23rd Street where he was detained. Another male subject who fled the vehicle on foot, later identified as Dennis, also was detained in the 200 block of East 26th Street.
In plain view in the vehicle, officers observed a Glock magazine with 13 live rounds and a plastic bag with heroin inside aluminum foil, an MDMA pill, and four unknown pills on the passenger floorboard. Officers also discovered a stolen Louisiana license plate and brass knuckles. Searching Anderson’s person, officers discovered a piece of crack cocaine in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt.
Dennis was booked with resisting an officer by flight (misd). He was released Oct. 18. On Oct. 23, a warrant was issued for Dennis’ arrest for criminal damage and domestic abuse battery with child endangerment. Anyone with information about Dennis’ whereabouts is asked to call 504-415-9927.
Anderson was booked with possession of MDMA (felony), possession of heroin (felony), possession of cocaine less than 28 grams (felony), and illegal possession of stolen things (felony). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $46,500 bond.

On Oct. 22, Nathan Weber, 19, of Garyville, Aneecia Paul, 19, of Marrero, and Deontae Davis, 18, of Garyville were arrested after a traffic stop. On Oct. 22, CRT officers observed a Honda Accord on Airline Highway near Elm Street in LaPlace without a license plate and executed a traffic stop. Officers observed the front seat passenger, later identified as Davis, sitting in an unusual manner with his right hand hanging between his legs near the floorboard. Officers then ordered Davis, along with other occupants, later identified as Weber and Paul, to exit the vehicle. As Paul began to slide out of the backseat, officers observed the barrel of a handgun under her buttocks and removed the gun. Officers also located another handgun inside the vehicle. Both guns were reported stolen from St. John Parish. During booking, officers recovered one and a half marijuana cigarettes on Paul’s person.
Weber was booked with illegal possession of stolen firearm. Paul was booked with possession of marijuana 1st offense (C2A) (misd), taking contraband to/from penal institutions prohibited (felony), illegal possession of stolen firearm and obstruction of justice. Davis was booked with illegal possession of stolen firearm and obstruction of justice. Davis was released Oct. 25. Weber is being held in custody in lieu of a $20,000 bond. Paul is being held in custody in lieu of a $34,000 bond.
K’Ron T. Mealey
On Oct. 26, K’Ron T. Mealey, 23, of LaPlace was arrested after a traffic stop. CRT officers observed a Dodge Challenger burning out tires and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Sugar Ridge in LaPlace. Officers made contact with the driver, later identified as Mealey, and detained him. Officers located in the trunk an AR-15 multi-tactical rifle. Also, inside the vehicle, officers discovered a bottle of 26 Xanax pills.
Mealey was charged with possession of Xanax (Alprazolam) (felony) and illegal carrying of a weapon with controlled dangerous substance. He also was booked on a felony contempt of court warrant. He was released Oct. 29, on a $35,350 bond.
“We are committed to conducting proactive patrols as part of our crime reduction efforts that help minimize the use and distribution of illegal drugs and criminal activity in our community,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said.

In addition, patrol officers recently arrested a Baton Rouge man for several drug violations.
On Oct. 27, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at a residence in the 2200 block of South Sugar Ridge Drive in LaPlace.
Through investigation, deputies were able to gain entry into the house where they found keys to the vehicle, along with a Crown Royal bag, on a sofa in plain view. Searching the bag, officers discovered a large amount of narcotics. Shortly after, officers located
Telvin Jordan, 29, of Baton Rouge, the driver of the vehicle, hiding in a bathroom.
Jordan was booked with possession of Xanax (Alprazolam) (felony), possession of oxycodone, possession of hydrocodone, possession of heroin (felony), legend drug imprint (misd), possession with intent to distribute marijuana (felony), possession of cocaine less than 28 grams (felony), possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia 1stoffense. He also had an active warrant in St. John and a hold for Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $131,669.50 bond
