Greater Grace principal aims for success

VACHERIE — Stephanie Johnson, M.Ed., is the new principal of Greater Grace Charter Academy for the 2019/2020 school year. Ms. Johnson is a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience. She is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, ordained minister, author and business owner. She is committed to bringing out the best in her students. Her goal is to broaden the students’ horizon by exposing them to different opportunities along with equipping them with the right tools to ensure they excel academically. Ms. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, an Associate Degree in Theology and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership. At the beginning of her career and until today she has received many awards for outstanding service, which include, Parent of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Community Person of the Year, Highest Achievement Award School Turn Around Network, and Most Improved Students Turn Around Network to name a few. Ms. Johnson has served in many areas of leadership, such as, Teacher Leader, Mentor Teacher, Leadership Team Member, TAP Evaluator, Grade Level Chairperson, Teacher Advisory Council Representative among others not mention having been the owner of her own “Class A” Preschool and Kindergarten for years. She is also a recognized as a certified Principal in the State of Louisiana. Ms. Johnson also serve as the youth pastor at one of Louisiana’s youth offender facilities for several years.
This year Ms. Johnson and the Greater Grace Charter staff will focus on helping the students to achieve “Mastery” or above on State LEAP Testing and excelling all throughout the school year. GGCA will be implementing new “Tier 1” Curricula in Reading and Math for grades K – 8th. Reading and Math Intervention will also be a crucial part of the effort to increase student scores. Greater Grace will also provide student clubs as enrichment to engage students in other learning to encourage social interaction, volunteerism and community involvement an early age. Team Greater Grace will nurture and develop students that believe they can achieve anything they set their mind to accomplish. We’re going to the NEXT LEVEL; Hard work and dedication = SUCCESS!
