Kevin Breaux launches 3 homers, including walk-off grand slam

RESERVE — East St. John’s Kevin Breaux collected three home runs in four at-bats Monday to lead the Wildcats baseball team to a 7-3 walk-off victory over Belle Chasse.

Breaux’s two-run homer in the first inning was followed by a solo homer in the bottom of the third.

The game was tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Breaux hit a grand slam on a 3-2 count, bringing in four runs for the win.

Breaux’s batting average stands at .441, and Wildcats coach Wendell Henderson describes him as “the best catcher in the state.”

With the win, the Wildcats are 16-12.
