LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre is inviting residents to register for the SJSO’s Citizens Academy.

The free classes, open to St. John residents, will be held each Thursday from April 25 to June 27 from 5:45 to 9 p.m. at Patrol Headquarters, 100 Deputy Barton Granier Drive in LaPlace.

The program provides participants with an insiders’ view of the operations of the SJSO in a relaxed and interactive setting.

Participants will learn more about patrol duties, 911 communications, new technology utilized by the SJSO, community relations, crime scene investigations and other specialized divisions.
