Robichaux: Come out for Legion’s Flag Ceremony that “you will never forget”
Published 12:01 am Wednesday, March 27, 2019
Please mark your calendar for Saturday (March 30) at 10 a.m. at the S.E. Veterans Home, 4080 West Airline Highway in Reserve. (Next door and to the left of the Department of Motor Vehicles.)
Please come watch a program take place about the American Flag that you will never forget.
Inspiration will be the order of the day. Bring your children, and we will teach them in a way they will never forget.
The American Legion Post 383 of LaPlace is doing its third annual Flag Ceremony in four years in conjunction with Troop 406 of the Boy Scouts Of America, the Young Marines of St. John the Baptist Parish, the V.F.W. Post 3337 LaPlace and V.F.W. Post 5852 of Lutcher and volunteers from various other Veteran organizations.
Available first responders and other volunteers will make up an Honor line for the Flag retirement part of the Ceremony.
This ceremony will be held in appreciation of the Vietnam Veterans service and duty, under this great Flag and to the ideals for which it stands.
Please bring a non-perishable food item for St. John Ministry of Care.
Free water and sodas will be available in limited supply.
Tent space will be available for the Home’s residents first, the handicapped, then the public.
