LaPlace man arrested for stalking days after probation arrest

LAPLACE — A local man’s arrest last week for parole violation was upgraded to stalking this week, according to the St. John Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Sean Schnyder, 51, of LaPlace was charged Monday with one count of stalking.
Based on investigation, criminal investigations division detectives obtained a judicial arrest warrant for Schnyder after police said on several occasions in January he attempted to solicit the same female victim in the parking lot of a local businesses.
Police first announced Schnyder’s arrest Thursday, saying his conduct garnered numerous complaints and increased attention locally via social media.
According to online jail records, Schnyder is being held in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
