St. Rose resident arrested for shooting death of 54-year-old Avondale man

ST. ROSE — A local man is facing a second degree murder charge after a deadly shooting Saturday afternoon in St. Rose.
St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 100 block of Second Street in St. Rose shortly after 4:30 p.m.
During the investigation, Corporal James Grimaldi reported the victim, a 54-year-old Hispanic male residing in Avondale, was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was located in a yard in the 100 block of Second Street.
“Relatively early in the investigation,” according to Grimaldi and Sheriff Greg Champagne, detectives obtained information leading to the detention and later arrest of Duvell London Sr., 58, of St. Rose.
His bond was set at $750,000.
