The Court Appointed Special Advocate program of Child Advocacy Services needs volunteers to be the voice for abused and neglected children in their community.

An Advocate is appointed by a family court judge to speak on the best interests of abused and neglected children.

Currently, there are more than 10 children waiting in St. John and St. Charles parishes that need a CASA Advocate.

Training begins Feb. 7 and consists of 30 hours of combined classroom and independent study.

Interested parties can call 225-647-2005 for an informational session with a CASA Recruiter to learn more about how your voice is needed to help these children navigate their way through the court system.
