LAPLACE — St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre was happy to accept a $500 check this week for the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Body Armor Fund from the St. Joan of Arc Thrift Store.

Tregre said the SJSO appreciates all donations, which will be used to have all officers protected.

The cost of a vest is about $500.
