LAPLACE — Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church welcomes anyone to attend next week’s St. Joseph Altar Blessing and Viewing schedule in Piovan Parish Hall.

Attendees can enter through the gate in the church parking lot, 1900 Greenwood Drive in LaPlace. Call 985-652-2615.

On Friday, the Blessing of the St. Joseph Altar follows  the 8:30 a.m. School Mass. The Viewing following the blessing runs until noon and reopens for viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. with Stations of the Cross taking place at 7 p.m.

The Viewing on March 17 is from noon to 5:30 p.m., with a Mass at 4 p.m.

The Viewing on March 18 is from 8 a.m. to noon, with Masses at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

This year’s altar is dedicated to local parishioners that have been called home by Our Lord. All proceeds will be sent to the Saltillo, Mexico, Missions in honor of deceased founding pastor Fr. Benny Piovan.

The Knights of Columbus Council #9623 will serve a meatless meal following the 10:30 a.m. Mass March 18. Donations will be given to local seminarians to assist with their needs.

Italian cookies, baked goods, wine, candles, medals, Rosaries and Holy Cards are available for a donation.
