Five area high school students earned $5,000 in scholarships sponsored by BASF to prepare for highly technical careers in industry at River Parishes Community College.
“The BASF Scholarship Program for technical education assists us in identifying bright and talented students early on, helping them take a step toward the advanced jobs and careers in our industry,” Tom Yura, BASF’s Senior Vice President and General Manager at Geismar.
Included in that group and representing the River Parishes is Chaz Rodrigue. The Vacherie resident picked up the scholarship, awarded to high school juniors or seniors graduating from THE annual, week-long BASF TECH Academy.
