Many supporters and patrons turned out Wednesday for a rededication ceremony of the Roland Borne Sr. Memorial Library.
Enhancements to the Edgard library include the addition of almost 2,000 square feet of service area.
When plans of the addition were shared in late 2015, officials promised a more aesthetically pleasing and spacious library.

Those in attendance this week said those goals were accomplished.
Located at 2979 Louisiana 18 in Edgard, renovations, constructed by M & H Builders, included an additional 1,957 square foot area to the existing library equipped with a new spacious lobby and circulation desk, study rooms, computer space, fresh carpet, bathrooms, and a new portico.
“Great job to the entire team involved in this successful project,” Parish President Natalie Robottom said. “Our library system is top notch, and these new amenities will only accommodate more children on the Westbank and give them better access to the tools they need to succeed.”
Councilman-At-Large Division A, Larry Sorapuru also shared his appreciation for the project, “I know Roland Borne Sr. would be extremely proud of the progress here today.”
