A lemonade and treat stands led by adult volunteers and children Kawanee Dozier, Josiah McGee, Christian McGee and Adrian McGee helped kick off a monthly Farmer’s and Community Market at Tractor Supply.

LAPLACE — The River Region Children’s Association Farmer’s and Community Market enjoyed a successful opening this month at Tractor Supply in LaPlace.

The market is located at 2335 W. Airline Highway and opens the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event’s next public event is planned June 3.

Hours may extend based on consumers’ interest. The market features fresh seasonal produce and seafood, as well as fresh baked goods, prepared food, snow balls, hand crafted jewelry and other gift items.

Vendor space and tent rental is available.

The Association is a non-profit that helps families and communities of the River Region parishes.
